The beach of Almirida is located only a few kilometers from the city center of Chania, Crete. It is a weekend getaway for many of the people in the prefecture of Chania.

As a "blue flag" holder, one can easily understand that the beach is fully organised, but doesn't offer as many activities as other beaches in the region. however, it is a very quiet and less visited beach during the weekdays.

The area itself, is the most foreign lived as many foreigners have bought property and privately owned homes here.

The tavernas which sit alongside of the beach offer fresh fish delights, a haven for the ones that love to dine this way - day or night.
